[Cliche New Year Title]

It’s ten PM on New Year’s Eve and I’m home alone, pawing over my computer and planning out what I’ll work on next. I had every opportunity to go out and have some fun, but I dropped the biggest, fattest SOD OFF to everyone and decided instead to put more hours into my passion – scrabble. Well, writing, I suppose, but I’ve also played a heck of a lot of scrabble. Continue reading “[Cliche New Year Title]”

I Shall Not Forsake Myself

Contrary to what I have been doing the past several weeks – I declare it a setback, and that is all. I now decide to abandon the feeling of abandonment itself and begin again to develop and push myself forward. I am again motivated, at last. Continue reading “I Shall Not Forsake Myself”

A Collection of Ambiguous Thoughts

“Religiously popping bubbles in a mobile game and pretending that I’m a world champion at it.”

Ambiguous is a word that accurately describes my current state of mind. No clear path of thought or feeling or state or presence of mind. That is certainly not an improvement from previous weeks where I have enjoyed a high flying and positive outlook. You know what they say. What goes up, must come down. Our spirits included. Allow me to explain. Continue reading “A Collection of Ambiguous Thoughts”

Sweet As A Nut

An odd expression. Nut’s aren’t overly sweet; there are far sweeter things in the world that could be used here. Let’s coin a phrase – sweet as a cider in summer. Alas, the summer is now quite clearly over. Hurricanes are pelting the world and meanwhile in Britain we are thinking our usual thoughts: What about us? Boris is in the news for being Boris, May is in Canada and someone tried to blow a train up with a bucket in a bag. And that’s about the extent of BBC News for the past few days. Continue reading “Sweet As A Nut”

Oh…Story of My Life

It’s that time again. Good ol’ Tuesday. I’ve been quite happy recently – I met someone whilst out and about on Friday and we clicked instantly. So I call her yesterday, she says can we talk tomorrow. So she calls me today. We make plans to go to a jazz club next weekend. Then her voice gets shaky and she reveals that she has a boyfriend. I don’t know how many times I’ve heard that same damn sentence. Continue reading “Oh…Story of My Life”

Blah, Get Me A Bed!

A day late. But late is better than never. A roller coaster few days as Nick and I close in on our strategy for the next section of the book. We’re introducing a new and very exciting character to the mix. He’s a far cry from all of the others, our first gaze into the wide and magical world we are immersing ourselves in. I’m trying to convince Nick to give this character a very special, fantastical mount. It’s just awesome! Continue reading “Blah, Get Me A Bed!”

What a Wonderful World

Another prolific song. Can you tell I like music? Today has been a good day. I didn’t sleep all that well last night and am knackered – but still feeling positive and ‘whole’ – a feeling I haven’t embraced for too long. This comes from taking a ‘romantic’ risk that payed off – even if this person and I are probably not going anywhere it feels nice to have your feelings somewhat reciprocated. Continue reading “What a Wonderful World”

Insert Poetic and Whimsical Title

Oopsy, forgot to post on Tuesday. Then again on Wednesday. The point is, I’m here now – although I fear I don’t have a great deal to reveal. What is supremely awesome is that Nick has churned out some great stuff and is doing really well in expanding the plot. The story is moving slower than anticipated but in truth I don’t mind that. If we get a good level of detail and interesting things happening to our characters whilst we are constructing our book to technical perfection – which is how it seems to my novice eyes thus far, I have no issues with how far along the story this first book gets us. Continue reading “Insert Poetic and Whimsical Title”

Awesome.

I think so far, my blogs have all been fairly negative. Today has been a fantastic day however. I met up with someone I’m growing rather fond of for lunch. I didn’t play my cards that well but I think she likes me. There’s a balance to be found between making the right moves at right time and simply being open and honest, being yourself.

So we’ll see how that goes. Aside from that, I managed to flirt with several other people, which is always a confidence booster. And I’m single so I’m allowed to do it. Continue reading “Awesome.”
